Richard Hamlyn Tucker MBE
Richard having Joined the RAF in 1976 as a Mechanical Transport Driver completed tours from Germany to Sardinia, Cyprus to Belize to name but a few including the 1st Gulf War. 
Initially upon leaving the RAF Richard worked for Safeway as an Operations Manager rising to General Manager in charge of a Large Distribution Centre before being made redundant. 
Following a further redundancy in 2006 Richard formed AAA Property North East which celebrates 10 years this October and in 2014 formed AAA Caring Caretaker a Property Maintenance Company, both are his own Companies.
Richard being a Lewis was the first of his family to Join a Military Lodge, an event which saw several notable family members from the Province of Devon & Cornwall travel to Germany to see his initiation into the Royal Air Force Lodge the “Star of Saxony” No.853 in Germany.
Exalted into Royal Arch United Services Number 2, followed by St Georges Preceptory No.7 all of which were overseas constitutions. During his time, overseas Richard was a member of the Most Eminent and Supreme Grand Masters Bodyguard in Germany, promoted in the Grand Lodge of British Freemasons in Germany to Past Grand Standard Bearer and in 2013 with the rank of Past Grand Standard Bearer VB in the Great Priory of the Netherlands
Returning to the UK having served 20 years overseas Richard joined St Oswald Lodge No.4260 in 1995 obtaining the Chair in November 1998 and again in 2004. Appointed to Prov AGDC in 2005 and Promoted to Past Provincial Grand Sword Bearer in 2006 Richard currently holds the Rank of PPJGW A Member of Durham’s Benevolent General Purposes Committee from 2008 – 2016 during which Richard was Chairman of the Non-Masonic Grants Committee and Chairman of the Estate’s Committee.
Joining Darlington Chapter No.1379 in 1996. Richard obtained the chair in 2010 achieving the acting rank of Provincial SN in 2014
Joining Wycliffe Preceptory 292 in 1995 Richard was EP 2006 & 2007 and appointed to Prov Almoner in 2007. Promoted to Past Provincial 2nd Const in 2009, and appointed Provincial Registrar in 2010 a role he has held until being appointed as Provincial Sub Prior on 22nd April 2017. Richards first appointment to Great Rank was as the Grand Masters Banner Bearer in 2013
Richard was instrumental in setting up the St John Ambulance Cadet Scheme for a cadet to visit Jerusalem which subsequently, was followed by 8 other Provinces. A Past Preceptor in Durham Preceptory of Install Preceptors No.567 a Founder and Past Preceptor of Ashbrook Preceptory No.690 in North & East Yorkshire.
Richard is a member of Prince Palatine Rose Croix a knight in the order of “Knights Beneficent of the Holy City” and member of the Court of Dearthington in the Masonic Order of Athelstan. 
Richard received an MBE for Services to Business and the Community in 2017 and is A “Freeman of the City of London” Member of the Worshipful Company of Paviours, Advisory Board Member to the University of Teesside, Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Fellow of the Institute of Leadership & Management and Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Logistics and Transport. 
Married to Pam for 37 years with 2 children Alison and James and two Grandchildren Lewis and William
